51.5% of international passengers arriving in Spain in October 2009 used low cost airlines

The occupancy rate of CBC was placed about 78%, three points more than the traditional companies. The British visitors who came to the Canaries by low cost airlines increased by 9.3% in October. The tourists who came from Italy and France on CBC in October saw increases over the same month last year.


Spanish airport received 4.9 million international passengers in October. Of these, 51.5% arrived in a low-cost airline (CBC), 2.7% less than the same month of 2008. For its part, the traditional airlines reduced passenger volume by 5.6%.

The occupancy rate of CBC was 77.7%, three percentage points higher than the major airlines tradicionales.Las CBC continued in October, Ryanair, Easyjet and Air Berlin, which carried about seven in ten passengers Spain. Ryanair recorded a remarkable growth, Easyjet retained the figure a year ago and only Air Berlin reduced the number of passengers.
